Re: Tank supports

I have just peeled the onion that is the belly pan in search of a grey water leak. Dr. Gradeless said I should have the ply wood shelf supporting my tanks, though when I pulled the underwear off my girl, I found the grey water tank held up by two pieces of angle iron. This both delighted and disturb...

Re: Determining my Avion's age

Based on the model it was built somewhere between 1960 and 1965. The serial number you gave is really big, they weren't that big back then (I don't believe) but lets see: 240210... the "24" could refer to the length, so maybe it was the 210th one made? Although I am totally guessing. The &...

Re: Avion La Grande as a Farday cage

What an interesting question and idea. I have absolutely no business trying to answer this question, but since you posed the question, I have now thought of my avion as a possible faraday cage. So, yes is my answer, I've thought of it. A lightning strike is the most common EMP so let's start there. ...

Re: Determining my Avion's age

Some pictures would be of big help to narrow it down.
Can you fin a serial number?
Does it have segmented end caps?

A little more info please,
Ian

Re: Hello from a new 1977 28ft owner!

Welcome Christine and Mark! Would love to hear more about your Avion. Don't hesitate to ask any questions here, as there is a small but active community. Even though I'm on my 3rd vintage travel trailer plus 1 motor home and feel pretty well versed in these things, I've found this forum invaluable i...

Re: Replacing my suspension...

That actually helps greatly.
It looks a wee bit longer but by far the closest one I've seen.
Annoying the Monroe guy omitted this shock from our lengthy search.
I'll pick one up tomorrow and see how it goes.

Thanks for that,
Ian

Re: Replacing my suspension...

Ok... wow. This is turning into a thing. The shocks I received (Monroe 555032) were massive compared to the ones I pulled out. No way they were going to fit. So back to the drawing board today. After stopping at a custom trailer place, and rv repair place an Airstream dealer and figured I throw a NA...

Re: Rejex vs Penetrol

Hey Kyavion,

How did the penetrol hold up in the long run?
I saw another thread with you and Nralifer about the truck box polish, is that any better?

Thanks,
Ian

Re: Replacing my suspension...

Rostam, I got the shocks delivered today about an hour before my wife and children returned from a trip... Hopefully will get after it tomorrow or the next day and will report back. Also, I noticed several options for shocks on Avions even of the same year. I'll post the shock number I'm replacing a...

Yeah, that would be a bargain.
Seems like almost too good of a deal.
