Drawer Slides

Post by silverloaf »

I’m in process of reinstalling the drawer slides. When I used the original attachment holes and then installed the drawer, i noticed the drawer front is not square with the cabinet frame.

It had me wondering whether Avion did this on purpose. By tilting the drawer slides downward at the back, it helped the drawer in place in travel.

Any thoughts on this? If not true, the installer at Avion had one too many the night before.

Thanks. When fully closed, there is a 1/8” to 3/16” gap between the bottom of the drawer front and the cabinet frame.

I suppose I could shim the drawer front to the drawer at the top to compensate. But that’s getting rather anal.

By the way, I had to replace the drawer slides on 6 drawers. All were missing some of the ball bearings due to lack of lubrication. Even the new ones were not well lubed. Now is a good time to lightly grease the slides before final installation.
