Re: New LED Tail Lights
Thanks Silverloaf! It is pretty cool bending metal
I do have quite a bit of work in these. I had to mock up the four plates of the "box" by using cardboard and a ton of trial and fit but finally got it. The back of the trailer bends in two planes. But I got it mocked up in cardboard, then measured it very carefully and plotted it all out in AutoCAD. That's where drawing 5 comes from, and is really the only one you need. Drawing 4 is the same drawing but with dimensions if you want to make it by hand. But just take 5 to the CNC guy and he can do his magic with it and cut you out the "flower petal". Then it's just four bends on a brake and you've got the basic shape. Then some rivet work.
I like my old trailer. I finally bought a new main awning for it from ZipDee. Hope to get it installed and go see some nice State Parks before the snow comes.
Take care!
Jim
