Can I make it go?
Can I make it go?
Alright, here we go- got this 1960 H-24 that’s been sitting for 30 yrs or more. I have no mechanics experience beyond keeping bicycles running
So my challenge is this - can I make it go! With your help and some help from my buddies I might have a shot at it.
To tow it closer to where I live and have access to a buddy’s shop, I need to get it road worthy for a 60 mile trip. Hoping some new tires, brakes/lights will be good enough.
Here are some pictures underneath to give an idea of the condition of the axle, hubs, springs. Please forgive me if I use the wrong terms I’m a complete newbie.

Re: Can I make it go?
Yeah new tires for sure. Lol
It's not that big of a deal to pull the hubs and repack the bearings with new grease when you have the wheels off already. If the seller will let you do that on location?
Otherwise just make sure the bearings aren't loose when it's jacked up and drive slow until you get everything checked out.

Re: Can I make it go?
Have you researched the possibility of hiring a towing company to haul that on a flat bed or a roll-back?

Re: Can I make it go?
@Razorback that’s a good idea, it might come to that. Seems like it would be expensive though, so I’m going to try to get it rolling on site. It’s on my own property, so there’s no rush.
