Furnace Replacement
Furnace Replacement
Overcooked the furnace in my 1971 Voyager 26' last week. Burnt plastic smell and the CO2 sensor going off. Haven't pulled it apart yet but wondering if there is a typical replacement unit?

Re: Furnace Replacement
Pulled the furnace this weekend. Its a Suburban NT 30. I was thinking of trying to repair the old unit but after opening up the case an looking at all those 50 year old bits, I'm thinking of just replacing the whole unit since there are full replacement units available that should go in with minimal modification. Kind of amazing the NT 30 unit is still being manufactured almost unchanged for 50 years!
Re: Furnace Replacement
Those furnaces swap out so easily, that's definitely the way to go.

Re: Furnace Replacement
I just removed mine altogether. Now I use a 1-2 Lasko space heaters. It works very well. 30 and below I need 2 but otherwise 1 suffices. Location varies obviously but it works for us in Texas.
