Leaky propane pigtails

I seem to have to replace my propane pigtails every couple years, so I am considering switching over to pigtails with male threads that thread internally into the LP tank vs the more standard plastic female connectors. Does anyone else have trouble with their pigtails leaking? Mine seem to develop a leak where the plastic female connector swivels on the pigtail hose. Even when brand new, if I push up or down on the hose where the pigtail goes through the plastic connector, I can cause a leak.

I haven't experienced any leakage at the pigtails. Then again, we haven't used our trailer for over a year. Right now, I'm using one for to my outdoor grille. The other is empty and stored.

Have you been using a propane leak detector?

No leak detector. I can hear them leak when I attach the plastic threaded collar, or with new ones I can make them leak by applying a little pressure to the hose.
