Re: Hitch weight
I would guess my 1981 34V would be about 800 lbs.
Fully loaded and ready to camp it weighed less than 8,000 lbs.

Re: Tow Vehicle Weight Ratings
Someone posted a picture today on the Airstream Addicts FB page of a pretty bad accident where the tow vehicle and trailer ended up facing 180* away from the direction of traffic and the trailer ended up with the driver's side of the coach on the pavement. The tow vehicle didn't look as if it had ro...

Re: Brakes Locking Up
I have had problems with my Draw Tite unit. I was told by someone who knows what he is talking about that when a trailer has been sitting for any amount of time you are going to have to adjust the gain in order to not lock up the brakes. When trailers sit the moisture in the air can cause rust to fr...

1995 K1500 GMC Suburban
Hello,
I have a really nice 4x4 Suburban for sale. It has the 5.7L/4L80 power package. It really isn't quite enough tow vehicle for a 34V. For any of the under 28' Avions it would be ideal.

Re: Tow Vehicle Weight Ratings
I can't tell you how much I appreciate your comments! At times I feel as if I am the lone voice crying out in the wilderness. What makes me so very angry is I don't understand what the guy in Canada is trying to prove. I have been in vehicle sales. I always wanted my customers to purchase the right ...

Tow Vehicle Weight Ratings
I read and post some stuff on the Airstream Addict Facebook page. At times I wonder why I bother. For me, it is pretty simple. If the tow rating for a particular vehicle sold in the United States is 3,500 lbs. I don't really care what the same car sold in Europe has for a tow rating. Unless you are ...

Re: I saw this on RVTrader. Very nice 34X in Michigan
A 34V is identical to a 34W except instead of a rear bedroom the 34V has a rear bathroom.
Most 34V's had side twins just in front of the bathroom. Some were ordered with a side queen and on the opposite there was a chest of drawers below the windows that covered the wheel wells.

Re: Propride (3P) hitch
Is this hitch head sort similar to the same design theme the Hensley uses? I have heard very good reports about the Anderson Hitch. The three specific comments I have heard several times is it is easy to install, easy to adjust, and it isn't very heavy. http://www.andersenhitches.com/Catalog/anderse...

Re: Becky B. '88 32S
We were going to look at a 32S with a rear queen before we purchased our 34V. The seller couldn't come up with the title and had quite a song and dance about how she was selling the trailer. We declined to get involved in that soap opera. I think the 32S is one of the best floor plans Avion ever made.
