Re: Pressurizing the water system on a '66 Sportsman
Yes I did although it was conflicting. My manual says to fill from the rear while the so-called experts and the PO said to fill from the front. Turns out the best info came from a fellow with a 67 Avion. He said that he always fills from the rear because the front freshwater holding tank gets pressu...

Re: Pressurizing the water system on a '66 Sportsman
I'm amazed at the lack of communication on this website. This particular thread has had 360 views but not one reply. Surely someone in this 'viewing group' has experience in pressurizing the fresh water system in a vintage Avion. The exception are posts by a few members who've help me over the past ...

Pressurizing the water system on a '66 Sportsman
Hello all. I just read over the manual for instructions on how to pressurize our water system and fill the front holding tank. The manual says to fill from the left rear water valve. Is this correct? We were told by a PO that the front valve is best to use or, does it make a difference? It seems the...

Re: 5" round porch lamp lens wanted
I think the best route may be a 3D printer outfit. One-off production tends to be expensive but the cost per unit drops when a bunch are made. Anyone else interested?

Thanks, I saw that too but would prefer to fix the old one if possible.

Re: Replacing tear drop light fixtures - 66 Sportsman
See attached. I've cleaned it up with Navel Jelly so the rust is no longer present. This is a before picture.

Re: Replacing tear drop light fixtures - 66 Sportsman
It's pressed into the fixture. Apparently the ground is through the fixture to the body of the trailer and a single wire goes to the base of the bulk holder. I believe the bulb is a BA9S. I don't see how to remove it without potentially loosing the wire in the wall insulation of the trailer body. I'...

Re: New flooring in '66 Sportsman
No, none yet. I used a J roller as you would installing vinyl flooring to ensure that the seams are touching and flat. We used it last week for the first time and all is well. Our temperatures have varied from about 12 C to about 30 C and no problems. The latter is a rare event thankfully.

Re: Toilet replacement recommendations - '66 Avion 18'
The toilet is back on and therefore I can't take a picture without removing it and destroying the wax ring. I used a wax ring as you would in your home. Fingers crossed it works. If it fails I am going to try to raise the flange using shims. Not sure if that would change things.

Replacing tear drop light fixtures - 66 Sportsman
Has anyone replaced the entire tear drop light fixture? Or, is it possible to just replace the light bulb holder? Any advice would be much appreciated. The west coast air has done a number on my light show! Kevin
