Re: Window glazing
I’m hoping that once I get everything I won’t have to worry about it for a loooong time.

Re: Hub sizes
I I believe the OP is talking about the brake assembly mount being 4 bolt not the wheel lugs. Ian This is correct. The trailer has the standard 6x5.5 hubs. The bearing numbers are 3500lb bearings according to dexter and e-trailer. I just ordered complete brakes and hubs from e-trailer with free ship...

Window glazing
I tried to get some window glazing for my trailer and the place that The pewter palace had suggested, interstate metal rv and marine, was out and couldn’t get anymore. But they put me onto a couple of other sites that still has some so if anyone needs any they should think about ordering some soon b...

Re: Hub sizes
That’s what I was thinking. Which means that I have 3500 lb axles and not 5200 or 6000 like the newer units. Which isn’t a bad thing if you look at the cost of the new 12” brakes to fit a 4 bolt mounting like mine has. Although I would like to have the extra capacity a 12” system with the heavier ax...

Hub sizes
I keep reading that people are putting 12” brakes on their 34’ trailers. I just put a tape to my hub and it’s a 10” hub and it’s stamped 10.9 on the hub. I have a 34v. Is this a normal thing? I’m pretty sure 12” brakes aren’t going to fit a 10” hub. The brake assembly has a sticker that reads Kelsey...

Re: Axle issue
Thanks Salty for the info. Yes I’m doing bearings and plan on replacing the hubs & brake system with new as well. I might end up removing the axles to clean them up and paint just for my benefit but I haven’t decided if I will or not. I’m looking at pulling the trailer out of Alaska next year so...

Re: Axle isssues
Thanks for the reply silverloaf. Having never dealt with an older trailer before I wasn’t sure what the fix would be. But knowing there are solutions and that the spindles were cast that way is a relief. I was thinking that might be the case when all of them had the same look to them. What are the o...

Re: Axle issue
Well not that it makes it any better or worse I guess but all three spindles on the curb side look the same. With the exception of the center one that looks like it might of overheated in the past. This is the center spindle, which also looks like bearing area has a bit of pitting. D966118F-97AB-4EE...

Re: Axle issue
The problem is the rusted parts at the end of the spindle. Those should not be there. It should be a round smooth surface. The outer bearing sits in front of that part. I will clean it up and post another that might make it easier to see. I just took the pic right after I took off everything. Here’s...

Axle issue
Well I’ve started my wheel bearing and brake job and the very first hub I removed has axle issues. I’m almost afraid to look at the others at this point. Anyone have any idea how to fix this issue or where someone could get a replacement? It’s on a 1981 34 V trailer. B68C7414-9888-405C-8565-4F30E9E2...
