Re: AC setup
The 12,000 btu units can be either 120 or 240, after that it’s all 240. From the experience I have with my studio space, the 12,000 is plenty for a trailer. I got mine (240) from an outfit in Florida, and they offered both. I’ll see if I can dig up the info. If I were doing my Avion, I’d have no qua...

Re: Zip dee awning
Zip Dee is pretty good about replacement parts, you’ll probably be able to source them from them. They are proud of their stuff though, I had a seized main arm assembly and they wanted $750 for the two part deal... I just banged harder.
Good luck!

Re: Rear window awning picture please?
That’s perfect, thanks Paul.
We have the same windows in the back and I was figuring it would use same arms as the other window awnings.
Thanks again Paul!

Rear window awning picture please?
Hey gang, I have a 13’ and 3’ window awnings by ZipDee I scored awhile back and plan to modify them to fit my street side windows. These were originally for my airstream but they are now destined for my forever trailer. Looking at the rear awning on the airstream camping with us I see that I need sp...

Re: 4TH OF jULY
Happy 4th! It’s also my birthday, so another trip around the sun almost completed. I managed to book 3 sites at Inks Lake SP on the water with the closest sites more than 100’ away. About an acre to ourselves. Two Avions and an Airstream. Two families we have been quarantined with. 0B216389-68A0-4CF...

Re: Exterior Rivets
I wouldn’t take my word as gospel on the thickness, the repair area was a rebuild of the supply hatch on a ‘77 so it may well have been a different thickness than yours. Also, with squeeze rivets, the length isn’t near as critical as long as it isn’t too long. I’m not a huge fan of Olympic rivets as...

Re: Exterior Rivets
Also, you can just get the longest rivet you think you will use and cut them down with a rivet cutting tool.
Here is a link to the kit I got so you see what all I’m talking about:

Re: Exterior Rivets
I’ll assume by closed end rivets you’re referring to buck rivets? The general rule as I understand it as well as employ, is that the tail should protrude twice as far as the material being fastened together. This allows for the tail end to be bucked to twice the diameter of the rivet shaft for prope...

Re: Help identifying an Avion
BB, That trailer looks great, congratulations and/or good luck. If you do get it, I’d seriously consider ditching that massive truck bed tool box off the back. While Avion frames are tremendous and far superior to airstreams, frame and shell separation can still happen and mods like that are just be...

Brakes, bearings and centrimatics...
Just finished a brake and bearing job on my friends’78 26H, while pretty straight forward I did notice that the new Dexter brake assemblies have adjustment windows that are nearly impossible to get to due to the way the spindle angles down. I pre-adjusted them fairly well and took it to a nearby foo...
