Re: 30 Amp to 50 Amp Conversion
That's good to know on the MaxAir fans. I've been really happy with them. We accidentally left the lid up on the original bathroom one in NC. Got back to WV and it was gone...so I guess it wound up along 95 somewhere. I like the way these deluxe models are made. On the 4560 (and similar models), you...

Re: New Tail Light Housings
I think AN just means its an exposed round headed rivet, as opposed to a flush rivet. But, it might be a misnomer as AN usually refers to "Army/Navy" and you'll see it used for all kinds of parts. So it may be like "Kleenex" where it's applied generically to most tissues and they...

Re: 30 Amp to 50 Amp Conversion
I can't think of any disadvantages at all, other than you might have to run two separate panels. Other than that, though, I'd think that having 12V breakers would be better than fuses. You might call Progressive Dynamics and ask them about modifying one of their panels like I used here to put your 1...

Re: Jim and his 34X
Rob, Sorry to be so slow...been a bit crazy for me here of late.... I just did a post on my 30amp to 50amp conversion. Check it out. It's pretty cool. I used a Progressive Dynamics 4560 and am never looking back. It's a bit of work, but you can do it in a weekend. Use 6-wire for the main feed, four ...

New Tail Light Housings
Hi Gang, My OEM tail light housings on the 34X were pretty sad. Decided to make some new ones. I never did like the chintzy plastic ones. Proper ones should be aluminum! So got some .040" thick 6061 aluminum. I mocked up what they should be in cardboard. This was harder than it sounds, as the c...

30 Amp to 50 Amp Conversion
Hi Gang, Been meaning to put some good technical stuff on here but just have been swamped busy..... I've swapped out nearly everything on my '87 34X. Here I'll show a few pics of my 30amp to 50amp conversion. I got tired of the breaker popping all the time when I had the a/c on, wife was using the h...

Jim and his 34X
Howdy Gang, Got the invite from Rob and now I'm logged in and a bonafide member :) Got my 34X about 9 or 10 years ago. Have done a ton of work on it. Started with sanding and repainting the frame, new shocks, repacking the wheel bearings and new seals, rewired the lights, new toilet, new fridge, new...
