Re: Soggy Subflooring in Bathroom

Is the vent cover intact? This is the original vent/fan?? (The one made by Hammond, with the rounded corners?) Assuming the water is coming from above, how is the water getting in? On the roof, is the sealant intact around that vent? (This is a fantastic area to use Eternabond sealant tape.) If the ...

Re: Empty LPG tanks?

That's good news.
For the pilot light: if you lift the top cover that has the cast iron burner grates on it, do you find a small valve towards the front that feeds gas to the pilot light?

If needed, let me know and I will take a picture of our stove.... we probably have the exact same one.

Re: Cast Iron Cooking

The waffle iron did arrive! Very impressed with the craftsmanship! I am looking forward to using it.
From the label that was on the package, it is obvious that Tony has a sense of humor!

Re: Cast Iron Cooking

If anyone is interested: in my search for a cast iron waffle iron, I ran across a relatively new company that is making NEW cast iron skillets and waffle irons! It is the Appalachian Cast Iron Co., https://www.appalachiancastiron.com/ I have a waffle iron in transit.... should get here Saturday, acc...

Cast Iron Cooking

Does anyone besides me like to cook using cast iron skillets, dutch ovens, griddles, etc? I learned how to clean up cast iron cookware to make it look like new. What started my obsession was when my mom gave me her Wagner dutch oven (mom is almost 92, and it belonged to her mother.... dated to somew...

Window Tint

Has anyone done a DIY project to apply window tint/film to their Avion? I have tinted household windows, so I am familiar with doing a quality job of applying window film. I keep looking at our Avion and wishing that those windows were tinted. I am leaning toward a really dark tint.... not only for ...

Re: Empty LPG tanks?

I have a 1987 34W that also has the original Magic Chef stove. To get light the upper pilot light, I have to raise the cover that has the 4 burner grates on it, then near the front is a small valve that I have to open with an attached lever. I will open that valve while I am holding a lighter over t...

Re: Empty LPG tanks?

The only check made inside is the stove/oven (except maybe the LP connection for the furnace.... that is inside). Do you still have the original Magic Chef oven? Otherwise, the fridge, furnace, and water heater are just a matter of turning each on and seeing if they come on like they are supposed to...

Re: Empty LPG tanks?

Welcome, AVian! Sorry it has taken so long to get you a response. First, do your LP cylinders still have the sensor wires connected to them? My cylinders don't have sensors, so there are no wires connected. The first thing I would do is get your cylinders filled. The connections are simple to unscre...
