Removing adhesive residue

The original owner of my 1986 34w had a bra type stone protector installed on the front of the trailer. It was held in place by a Velcro tape that ran along the perimeter of the”bra” underneath the beltline to the main awning arm down to the bottom molding at the belly pan and back up the road side to the heltlinr bThe Velcro wore out and wouldn’t hold the bra on any more so am trying to remove Velcro tape. Parts of it are almost dry rotted, but the adhesive that held it on is in places is not giving up the fight. Are there any removers, solvents, or tricks that will help me not lose my sanity, or scratch or damage the anodized finish. Thanks.
