Front Speaker Upgrade

Post by pbsled »

I took a break from the bathroom remodel this morning and made some speaker enclosures for the front speakers and installed some old Polk 7500 RMs drivers that I had around. I picked up an old HK (80s era) receiver this week that matches the style of things, which I will mount above fridge on a 120v feed. Sounds much better and looks the part. Not exactly the most scientific enclosure design, but they sound pretty tight with decent bass and no rattles. Looking forward to the Bluetooth add-on component input to make the retro receiver useful for a phone and tv.

curious, when you were wiring up the speakers, did you find an additional unused wire?

Yes, I found the same purple wire others have found. It was a loop on the left side, and single wire in the right.

Yeah, I don't think Bass Box Pro was a consideration when the original enclosure was designed.
Finished product looks good though.
