New tires for my 1987 Avion 34X.

Hi!

I own a 1987 34X. It's been sitting out in a storage lot in California for 2 years. I'm just getting ready to have a friend tow it out to Colorado where I am. Because it's been sitting for such a long while I'm going to replace the tires even though they have less than 4,000 miles on them and are about 3 years old. I know very little about trailer tires. I was hoping the owner's manual would give me a straightforward answer about what type of tires I need, but it does not. I am not out in California, so I can't just go out to look at the tires. Can anyone help me understand what type of tires I need?

This is my personal opinion: stick with trailer tires. Some folks advocate for LT truck tires, but I stick with trailer tires.
When I needed the last set I bought, I asked an automotive shop owner-friend for a recommendation. He told me he would recommend what he uses on his enclosed trailer used for hauling his race cars: Hi Run ST225/75R15. They have been doing well.
