Bathroom Redesign for 90' 30P
Re: Bathroom Redesign for 90' 30P
Very nice!!
I can only imagine the stress you might be feeling, trying to get everything buttoned up so you can go on your outing. Once the outing starts, I sure hope you get to kick back, relax, and enjoy the fruits of your labor.

Indeed, and thank you for the empathetic thoughts. See my post in electrical for today’s issue. Need to get backup lights working if I can before I finish up fresh pex to sink.
I think I will make it road worthy in time, but the electrical stuff is a bit of a mess and a time sucker. Making new circuits where I can to alleviate issues so hot water and water pump are clean stand alone circuits. My monitor panel has some “features” I am afraid. I am good with electrics but there are some odd choices in the design.

Headed out for a well deserved steak and beer! I got lots done (meaning initial testing) with electrical and plumbing in the last 48 hours, including the install and live test of the hot water heater, which works fine. All 12v and 110 electrical is good enough for now and all circuits identified and working fine, including furnace check. And with the exception of one leaky PEX fitting, I only need to wrap up the kitchen sink cold side lines then I can call the interior plumbing done for the upcoming trip. I will postpone any work on freshwater tank and pump till Spring I think.
Girard heater performs as expected, meaning I will have to throttle flow to allow for more temperate rise as needed in heater. With such hi-flow piping I will use a combo inlet valve adjustment at heater and probably add a washer to shower head. In good shape otherwise, and looking forward to a day or two if rest.

Hooked up the heating duct to the bathroom air box did some insulation work and buttoned up the curb side of things. I didn’t get to load test the furnace yet as my old propane regulator died. Better now than on my trip.

Two weekends left before our trip so the list making is getting serious. The freezing weather is making this more challenging, but moving along with things. Not the most exciting pics but very important milestone to complete!

Re: Bathroom Redesign for 90' 30P
Took it easy today and just did a little work on the vanity over the sink. I used the shower yesterday for the initial test with 40 degree outside weather, and about 50 degree water and it worked just fine. I have the flow throttled down some for the Gerard water heater inlet and the thermostat set at 118. I could also add a little cold water to moderate temp as needed. It takes about 15sec for the temp to stabilize. The shower head is a 2.3 GPM unit, but I am sure it’s down to around 1.2 now, which is about max for that heater.
The vanity shelf became a priority for the trip as I am still lacking some shelving on the back side of the wardrobe. I had lots of plastic and frp left so I just used that. The front veneer is the pvc wall tile that matches the wardrobe. I am glad I have been able to keep with the plan to have minimal wood or painted surfaces in an effort to keep down on mildew and cleaning effort.

One of the less fun but mandatory steps was accomplished today ..... replacing bathroom vent fan and caps for tank vents. 4 hours of scrapping and cleaning and 1 hour of installation. I am a big fan of using 3M windshield ribbon on all my exterior seals that sandwich together then flashing everything with Eternabond of course. The days are getting short as I had to finish in the dark.

Re: Bathroom Redesign for 90' 30P
Our trip is one week away, so I am turning my attention to the more critical punch list items. However, today I did enjoy the inside work of painting the rest of the bathroom, installing the ceiling fan trim and last two recessed lights. We will call it good enough to use for now since all the plumbing and electrical checks out fine. I need to focus on running gear and safety items this weekend.
What remains in the bathroom that I will take on in early spring:
Wardrobe door install
Wiring chase on back wall and shelves behind wardrobe
Metal trim on front edge of counter top
Ikea drawer set under sink
Vanity mirror and door over sink
Built in magazine rack at base of wardrobe
I will post updates here once I make real progress on the finishing touches. Thanks for all the views and supportive posts! At last look this thread had over 2k views, which was very encouraging.

Excellent job on everything. When things slow down for you, would you say more about the 3M Windshield Ribbon you like to use?
