Found some pictures of parent’s Avion and pickup
I was going through a box of pictures last night and came across some pictures of my parent’s 1980/1981? Avion 34V and the beautiful 1979 F250 that dad towed it with. He sold the truck in the early 2000’s.... looked as new as the day he bought it. Unfortunately, life circumstances at the time ruled out ME getting that truck, but I sure wish I had it! 460, automatic. Might have had 70,000 miles on it.
Also, I am going to add some pictures of other travel trailers they had, including a 19’ Nomad, a 23’ Mobile Scout, a 27’ Gag-hack-cough-stream ( ), and their Avion. Dad’s experiences with travel trailers are what convinced me to get an Avion if/when I ever got one. We have had ours for 5 years now, and I am sure glad we have it!

A great tribute to your dad, Paul.

Yes, jullybina, lots of good memories contained in those pictures! Those travels in my childhood are what kindled the desire to get a travel trailer some day, and an Avion in particular. Also, having so many miles of experience with a great teacher showing me how to do things, made me very comfortable getting a 34’ Avion as our first trailer. I already knew how to do things related to preparing, hitching, towing, backing, setting up a weight distribution hitch, and how the different systems work on the Avion. Rather than being an overwhelming, scary learning curve, it was more like, “Let’s get this adventure back on the road!”
In the hectic, high-pressure world I live in during work hours, heading somewhere (ANYWHERE!!!) with the Avion is a great release.
The favorite view I see in the rear-view mirrors of the truck is the Avion!!!
