1989 Avion Travel Trailer

Located in Carmel, IN just north of Indianapolis
Avion - 1 of 1.jpg
Avion - 1 of 42.jpg
• Front kitchen with dinette (makes into a small full-size bed)
• Mid coach living area with chair and jackknife sofa (makes into a small queen-size bed)
• Side Bath with shower/small tub combo, new porcelain Dometic toilet with sprayer, updated vessel sink
• Rear bedroom with twins

The short story.
We purchased this trailer in June of 2016 in Virginia. It still has the VA Avion number on the rear corner. It was the third Avion purchased by the original owner – he loved Avions. We were told so by his daughter, who was the second owner and from whom we purchased this trailer. It has been well cared for over the years. Traveled extensively, the original owner took her to Alaska on his final RV trip. His daughter then acquired the trailer and did some mechanical updates. We have done a few updates, see below, and are sad to sell her but a job change and move mean we no longer have the opportunities to use her and hate to see her sit. She is mostly in her original form with the exception of some updated mechanicals, new flooring and remodeled bathroom vanity and toilet. We replaced the curtains but I kept the previous ones that could be cleaned to use or serve as a guide for new ones.

We also have had her up to visit Chuck Cayo in Watervilet, MI a couple times. Chuck’s grandfather was one of the original owners of Avion and he still works on Avions – thank goodness. One trip was to repair damage to the low side on the driver’s side caused by a tire blow out. He did a beautiful job. There is a photo of before and after for reference. Chuck had a long check list and went through the trailer front to back and inspected the caulking in the roof in Fall of 2017.

Our updates include:
• New tires and spare in 2017, radials
• Updated water lines to PEX in 95% of trailer – the lines in the plumbing area where there are many connections to tanks and water heaters still need to be done, PEX is there, we just haven’t had the time to complete.
• Remodeled cabinet in bath to provide more standing area when we upgraded toilet. There is now a vessel sink and a custom countertop with an aviation map for the background.
• Repaired control panel so the monitoring systems work
• Removed carpet in living and bedroom and replaced with a floating cork floor

Other upgrades by previous owners include:
• Small solar system, it is older but works nicely to keep batteries charged and provides enough power to maintain the power jack.
• Inverter
• Electric water heater was replaced at some point, it recently stopped working. We believe it just needs a new heating element but have not had time to troubleshoot. We prefer the gas hot water heater – much faster.
• Winguard TV antennae/satellite. We have never used it.

Other details:
Kitchen
• 3 way Dometic fridge (this a newer model – not the original)
• Separate drinking water tap and filter systems. Needs filters which are still available – we have not used it.
• Microwave
• 4 burner gas stove and oven with vent
• Double sink with pull out sprayer
• Dinette that drops down into a bed
• Way too much storage, seriously, you will never fill it all.
Living area
• Radio with cassette player provides surround sound throughout coach
• Linen closet
• Chair and jackknife sofa
• TV stand
Hall and bathroom
• Divider for privacy in rear of coach
• Cedar-lined hanging closet
• Bathroom with shower and small tub combo, vessel sink on new cabinet and new Dometic porcelain tall toilet with sprayer

Bedroom
• Twin beds with 12v headed mattress pads
• More storage than you will need
Mechanical
• Suburban ducted furnace. We were told that there may be a leak in the heat exchanger but we have not confirmed that detail. It does work.
• Secondary gas heater attached to back of dinette – works wonderfully.
• 13,000 watt Dometic AC unit with heat strips
• 3 way refrigerator
• 12 volt water pump
• Gas hot water heater
• Electric hot water tank – currently not working – we think it’s just the element.
• Black tank approx. 30 gals, Gray tank approximate 40 gals
• Fresh water tank approx. 50 gals
• City water connection
• 30 AMP hookup
• Cable connection
Exterior
• Power tongue jack
• 2 – 40 pound propane tanks re-certified in 2016
• Two 12 volt golf cart batteries purchased in 2016
• Awnings all the way around, one of my favorite things. She looks awesome with her awnings out and they are so helpful in warm/hot weather to keep the coach cool. They also provide lovely privacy – though the windows are tinted as well.
• Porch lights, door handle light – super cool, front hitch area light, light at electric/water hook up area
• Custom rails above tire wells on both sides to use for custom tires curtains/covers. Need to have cover made but the rail is in place on both sides.
• Awning screen – screened in porch that attaches to main awning
• Numerous storage areas all around the bottom of the coach.

We are including many items in the sale, dishes, pots/pans, hoses, electric hookup lines, water hoses, sewer hoses, tools. She is recently cleaned inside and out, tanks flushed and de-winterized. She is ready to hook up and go.

She needs a new home, one that will continue to use and enjoy her.

Sorry, I didn't realize the comments were not forwarded to my email.
So yes, you can walk past the couch when it is down.

Nice trailer. 14 months too late for me. :(
You have a good maintenance history, I hope someone gets this who can appreciate it. From where I sit, the price is good.
Best of luck to you!
