Still trying to settle on the best tires
Re: Still trying to settle on the best tires
The trailer was hitched to the truck and the installer lifted it at the point just in front of the right front tire…. And, yes, all three of the tires on the right side lifted off of the ground.

Yes… I told him, “THAT is one difference between Avion and Airstream!”

Re: Still trying to settle on the best tires
I’ve been really happy with the Cooper HT3’s I purchased in 2016. Per Cooper’s 10 year recommendation, I’m coming up on replacement in 2026 and will probably install another set.
As mentioned earlier, I think a TPMS is a smart idea. A TPMS would potentially save the trailer from significant damage should a tire blow. While I originally thought a blown tire would be really noticeable while driving, I learned that’s not necessarily the case. I had a trailer tire blow on a prior Airstream, and I had no idea until a passing car signaled me. The damage from the metal belt hitting the wheel well and side of the trailer would have been significant if much more time had passed. Ever since that incident, I always use a TPMS.

Re: Still trying to settle on the best tires
I opted for the Goodyear Endurance tires. Discount Tire offered an $80 rebate which helped the cause. While the Carlisle HD brand is a good tire (and cheaper). I learned a downside with the Carlisle is the point at which it fails. It gives no warning when the sidewall of the tire reaches the end of its life cycle.
Thanks, Razorback, for the recommendation.
