MORryde axle/suspension
MORryde axle/suspension
Howdy,
I know that MorRyde is still in business. Do they still manufacture the axle/suspension system that was installed on 1977 and prior Avions? I'm just planning ahead, as I have Adjust-a-Ride suspension on my Avion, and those are not manufactured anymore. Thinking ahead about a replacement, if something goes wrong.
Thanks!

What parts have you concerned should anything go wrong?

Contact MorRyde. They will tell you.
I seem to remember reading somewhere, sometime, that you CAN get replacement parts.

Re: MORryde axle/suspension
I've seen, a couple of instances, that the wheel has snapped off. I do not expect a failure in the near future and am mostly planning ahead! Also, have been thinking about replacing the springs and shocks and wonder whether its worth it or should I just replace the whole axle when the time comes.

Re: MORryde axle/suspension
I visited their website. They do have independent suspension, with drum or disk brakes, but its a bit pricey. Tandem 7000# axles with drum brakes is around $4k (installation included). With disk brakes, its around $7k. Seems there are options for independent suspension, if god-forbid the Adjust-A-Ride fails in my Avion. They are just pricey.

Rostam-
Our '88-30P has the Adjust-a-Ride suspension system. In terms of replacement parts, the only Achilles heel is the half-shaft. You might want to do some research on what it would take to get one made. There are a lot of commercial outfits that fabricate driveshafts, etc. I'm sure many in the forum would appreciate the info.

That's ok. In my case, oversight increases with age.
I'm wondering if anyone has considered x-raying a half-shaft for evidence of stress or internal fracture.

The previous owner of my 1984 30R had the MorRyde suspension installed and I must say it seems to handle really well.

Started getting my ‘67 Travelcader road ready and came across this forum. Wow! What a source of info and just a fun site to read. I want to replace the shocks and have found something close, but it’s an automobile shock. Would this be sufficient? All suggestions welcomed.
